A Milestone for Padel in Switzerland

With the official opening of its new site in Biberist, Padelta has reached an important milestone for the development of padel in Switzerland. The brand-new indoor facility includes eight courts and a spectator stand for several hundred guests. In close collaboration with Swiss Tennis Padel, it will now serve as the official national training centre for padel.

A Weekend Full of Highlights

The opening weekend offered a varied programme with exciting matches, youth activities and well-known guests. It started with a national P1000 tournament, the highest category in Switzerland, where the best players in the country impressed with their skills.

On the second day, Padelta’s new Head Coach in Biberist, José Mouliaa, made a clear statement by winning the tournament and proving his sporting quality. In the final he partnered with professional player Aitor Garcia, who is supported by Padelta, and won 6:2 / 6:3 against Padelta talent Philip Orloff and professional André Britos. This meant that three Padelta players were competing in the final of the highest-ranked tournament – a great showcase for the organisation.

One of the most positive moments of the day was the participation of many children, who experienced padel for the first time. Under the guidance of the Padelta coaches, they explored the new courts and discovered the sport in a fun and playful way. This made Padelta’s vision tangible – to make padel accessible for all generations. Together with Swiss Tennis Padel, youth development will be one of the main pillars of the partnership, as young players are the foundation for the future of the sport.

Another highlight was the appearance of NHL star and Padelta Co-Owner Nino Niederreiter, who took to the court in a friendly match with members of the community. The fun and entertaining encounter once again showed how padel uniquely connects sport, fun and community.

Spectacular Show Match

The celebrations ended with a world-class show match. Four international professionals – including the rising star Aimar Goni – delivered padel at its best. More than 350 spectators enjoyed spectacular rallies, strategic brilliance and pure passion. The electric atmosphere in the stands demonstrated the huge potential of padel as a spectator sport.

A New Chapter

Padelta would like to thank all visitors, partners and sponsors who made this special event possible.
With the national training centre in Biberist, a new chapter for padel in Switzerland begins – with the goal of promoting the sport, developing talent and taking the fascination of padel to the next level.
