Swiss Tennis Padel and Padelta launch joint National Training Centre for Padel in Biberist (SO)

Swiss Tennis Padel and Switzerland’s leading padel provider Padelta are joining forces to sustainably promote and develop the sport of padel in the country. As part of a long-term strategic partnership, the two organisations will jointly operate the new National Training Centre in Biberist (SO), which is set to officially open in mid-August 2025.

The collaboration focuses on training padel coaches and players, creating new playing and training opportunities, establishing joint initiatives for youth development, and professionalising the sport across Switzerland. The partnership also includes a closer cooperation in tournament organisation. Starting in 2026, Padelta’s existing tournament series will be fully integrated into the official Swiss Tennis Padel tournament calendar and will count exclusively towards the Swiss Tennis Padel ranking.

Youth development as a priority
The new National Training Centre in Biberist (SO), funded and operated by Padelta, will be the first of its kind for padel in Switzerland. It aims to become the hub for padel training in the country, offering top athletes – especially young talents – state-of-the-art infrastructure for training camps and competitions. The facility will feature eight courts, four of which are suitable for international tournaments, setting a new benchmark for padel in Switzerland. The venue will also include a grandstand built to meet the highest international standards.

Soft launch in July, grand opening in August
The official inauguration will take place on Friday, 15 August 2025, followed by one of Switzerland’s four P1000 tournaments – the country’s highest prize money category – on 16 and 17 August. Spectators can look forward to an exciting show match featuring international padel pros, offering a rare opportunity to experience the sport at its highest level. Starting as early as mid-July, the courts in Biberist will be open to both padel enthusiasts and newcomers.

Swiss Tennis President René Stammbach welcomes this milestone for the association’s padel division:
In a very short time, we have built a solid foundation with our ranking, competition, and training systems to develop the sport sustainably. Now we are taking the next step by systematically promoting youth development. Partnering with Padelta – Switzerland’s leading padel provider with eight locations and its own tournament series – proves that our strategy is forward-thinking and meets the needs of the sport. This partnership will significantly strengthen padel in Switzerland.”

Yannick Moser, CEO of Padelta, also sees great potential in the new alliance:
Padel continues to grow in Switzerland, and with that growth comes increasing expectations around quality, education, and structure. Professionalisation is essential – especially in the training of coaches and players. With Swiss Tennis’ expertise and our experience as the country’s leading padel academy, we aim to further develop the sport and firmly anchor it in Switzerland. The new training centre in Biberist is a strong symbol of quality, youth development, and the future of Swiss padel.”
