Powerade Padelta Cup at Puls 5
Last weekend, the Powerade Padelta Cup took place at Puls 5 for the first time. A total of 50 teams competed in categories 1, 3, and 5, battling for the coveted victory, with the tournament delivering high-level, exciting matches.
In category 1, Padelta player Philip Orloff, playing alongside Ivan Lopez, triumphed. They decisively defeated Switzerland’s No. 1, Till Gygax, and his partner Gian Grünig in the final with a clear score of 6 – 3, 6 – 1.
Padelta also celebrated success in category 3. Padelta coach Jorge Azanedo teamed up with Padelta junior talent Jan Kellner. After dominant wins in the quarter and semifinals, they secured victory in a hard-fought final against Vasadze/Schenk, with a score of 6 – 4, 1 – 6, 6 – 4.
In category 5, Martinez and Quero won a thrilling match over Nguyen and Schnider in three sets.
The tournament was a great success, offering spectators exciting Padel matches where the top Swiss players showcased their skills. An event like this, right in the heart of Zurich, was undoubtedly great publicity for the sport.
